Yi-Ching Lee

Yi-Ching Lee is a Visiting Scientist in the Huang Lab and a tenured Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of Cellular and Organismic Biology, Academia Sinica, Taiwan. She studies how genetic and environmental factors, and their interactions, drive disease risk and progression. By leveraging rare disease models, her team defines pathogenic pathways and identifies environmental modifiers that shape disease outcomes. Integrating human population studies with mechanistic analyses in mouse models, this work links molecular mechanisms to complex disease phenotypes. Current efforts focus on age-related connective tissue disorders, including cardiometabolic diseases, skeletal degeneration, and cancer, with an emphasis on how these processes interact with environmental factors, such as oxidative stress and nutrients, including vitamin C, to reveal potential preventive and therapeutic targets.
