Computational AssociateRuifei Zhu is a Computational Associate II in the Huang Lab at the Broad Institute. She is interested in how genetic variation contributes to complex human diseases, with a current focus on identifying rare coding variants associated with inflammatory bowel disease. Her work involves analyzing large-scale exome sequencing datasets across diverse cohorts and integrating statistical and functional approaches to prioritize disease-relevant variants.
Ruifei holds an MS in Bioinformatics from Boston University and an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College London. Her background spans statistical genetics, bioinformatics, and prior wet lab experience. Motivated by a long-standing interest in human health and disease, she is particularly drawn to questions that link genetic discovery to biological function, and hopes to further explore this direction in future research.
